Denmark Commends Egypt for Simplified Dairy Export Procedures

Cairo:The National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) of Egypt has been lauded for its efforts in streamlining regulatory procedures for the export of dairy products from Denmark. Two official letters of appreciation were received from the Danish Embassy in Cairo and the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration, acknowledging the improvements made in the regulatory processes.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the recognition highlights the NFSA's initiatives to modernize Egypt's food safety oversight system and strengthen international cooperation. The letters, dated November 4, 2026, and October 29, 2026, respectively, from the Danish Embassy and the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration, commend the NFSA for its constructive approach in simplifying the export process.

The Danish authorities praised the agreement to adopt a single standardized veterinary health certificate for milk and dairy products, replacing the previous requirement of multiple certificates for each shipment. This change is expected to enhance the efficiency and transparency of customs clearance, facilitating trade between Denmark and Egypt while maintaining health and regulatory standards.

Additionally, the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration noted that the unified certificate would support the transition to its new digital export certification system, DIX, improving the efficiency and reliability of the certification process. The NFSA, led by Chairman Tarek El-Houby, is committed to continuing its efforts to modernize regulatory procedures and strengthen cooperation with international partners.

The NFSA aims to maintain food safety standards while facilitating international trade, positioning itself as a trusted regulatory partner both regionally and globally.
