Cairo: Cairo International Airport continues to receive official delegations participating in the historic opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), amid festive atmospheres and intensive preparations reflecting the importance of this global cultural event, Extra News channel reported on Saturday 1/11/2025.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has arrived in Cairo to participate in celebrations marking the most significant cultural project in Egypt's history, Extra News reported.
Meanwhile, several international missions and delegations attending the celebration-including C´te d'Ivoire's Minister of Culture and Francophonie, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and Ireland's Minister of State for Agricultural Affairs-were noted by the news channel.
The airport also witnessed the arrival of the Minister of Culture and Arts of Cameroon and the Minister of Tourism, Antiquities, and Handicrafts of Chad, among a series of delegations that have been arriving in Cairo over the past two days.
One of the most prominent arrivals was Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who had arrived earlier to participate in the ceremony, the news channel noted.
