Kaya: The first phase of the women's empowerment project in the Kaya refugee camps in Burkina Faso has been successfully completed. This initiative exemplifies a collective effort to improve the lives of displaced women by offering sustainable livelihood opportunities.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the completion of this phase was celebrated following a series of on-the-ground needs assessments and community engagement efforts. Mr. Khaled Mohamed Malloum, the OIC Representative and Liaison Officer of the OIC Regional Mission in Niger, highlighted the project's two-year journey, rooted in a commitment made at the 2021 Ministerial Conference on Women in Cairo, Egypt.

The OIC representative announced plans for a second phase of the project, supported by the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation reaffirms its dedication to empowering women, children, and refugee families in camps throughout Burkina Faso.
