Paris: Egypt's Commercial Office in Paris organized a high-level visit for Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), to France as part of ongoing efforts to attract more French investment to Egypt.
According to State Information Service Egypt, during the visit, he delivered a keynote address at the Egypt-France Business Forum held at the Egyptian Embassy on 17 November 2025. The event saw the participation of representatives from more than 60 French companies, along with major institutions such as AFD, Business France, the Arab-French Chamber of Commerce, and MEDEF International.
The Commercial Office also arranged a series of bilateral meetings for the SCZone Chairman with French companies exploring investment opportunities in various sectors, including aerospace and feeder industries, infant milk powder production, engineering and electronics, infrastructure, energy, logistics, and port services.
Gamal El-Din participated in the Ambition Africa Forum, where he spoke in a session on transport and logistics amid growing French interest in expanding economic cooperation with Egypt.
Dr. Abdel Aziz El-Sherif, Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS), emphasized that the SCZone has become a strategic platform for attracting foreign investment due to its unique location, advanced infrastructure, and investment incentives. He stressed that the Paris visit represents an important step in strengthening ties with the French business community and opening new prospects for establishing strategic industries in Egypt. The Commercial Office plans to continue following up on meeting outcomes to translate them into concrete investment decisions.
