Civil Aviation Minister and IFC Assess Progress on Hurghada Airport Tender

El alamein: Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El-Hefny met with International Finance Corporation (IFC) Regional Director for North Africa and the Horn of Africa Ary Naim, IFC Egypt Country Manager Saad Sabra, and IFC Infrastructure Projects Specialist Mohamed Mehni. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the EIAS 2026 International Airshow and Space Exhibition in El Alamein city, northwestern Egypt. The focus was on reviewing the latest developments in the tendering procedures for the management, operation, and development of Hurghada International Airport under a public-private partnership (PPP) scheme.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the project aligns with the Egyptian state's directives to advance the civil aviation sector, improve services for passengers, and enhance the overall travel experience. El-Hefny commended the IFC's role in providing technical and advisory support for the project, emphasizing its global expertise in preparing and implementing public-private partnership projects.

Ary Naim, representing the IFC, reaffirmed the organization's commitment to ongoing collaboration with the Ministry of Civil Aviation. Naim emphasized the IFC's support for the project in its upcoming stages, ensuring the tendering procedures meet international standards.
