Cairo: Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Governor Hassan Abdullah and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Abdelaziz Konsowa engaged in discussions regarding the preparations for the second phase of the national Future Scientists Scholarship initiative, set to admit a new batch of students for the 2026/2027 academic year.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting held at the CBE headquarters focused on reviewing the first-year performance of the initiative and exploring methods to extend its reach. The objective is to support more academically outstanding students from low-income families, facilitating their enrollment in Egypt's private national universities.

Abdullah highlighted the central bank's dedication to enhancing higher education and scientific research as integral components of Egypt's human capital development strategy. He emphasized that investing in outstanding students is synonymous with investing in the country's future. Additionally, he acknowledged the ministry's efforts in launching Egypt's inaugural bachelor's program in banking sciences.

Konsowa reiterated the ministry's commitment to broadening the initiative and strengthening collaborations with state institutions. The aim is to ensure equal educational opportunities, foster innovation, and contribute to advancing sustainable development goals.
