Cairo: Cairo University President Mahmoud Samy Abdel Sadeq welcomed cooperation with Armenian universities in light of the historic, cultural, and popular relations between Egypt and Armenia. Abdel Sadeq made these remarks during a meeting with Armenian Ambassador to Egypt Armen Sargsyan to discuss ways of boosting cooperation in academic and research fields between Cairo University and Armenian universities.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting explored potential areas of collaboration, including renewing the existing cooperation agreement with Yerevan State University, facilitating student exchange programs, and ensuring the well-being of Armenian students studying at Cairo University. Ambassador Sargsyan expressed admiration for Cairo University's academic reputation and a desire to strengthen ties between Cairo University and Armenian universities.
He emphasized the importance of exchanging academic expertise and extended an invitation to Abdel Sadeq to visit Armenia and gain firsthand information about the educational and research activities at Armenian universities. Meanwhile, Abdel Sadeq gifted Ambassador Sargsyan the Cairo University shield, and they participated in a photo opportunity.
