Cairo Hosts 18th INTOSAI Steering Committee Meeting

Cairo:The 18th meeting of the Steering Committee of the Knowledge Sharing and Knowledge Services Committee of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) began in Cairo, hosted by the Accountability State Authority (ASA) with representatives from member supreme audit institutions.

According to State Information Service Egypt, ASA President and INTOSAI President Mohamed El-Faisal Youssef opened the meeting by welcoming participants and highlighting their commitment to supporting INTOSAI's mission and enhancing professional cooperation among its members. He praised the contributions of working group heads and representatives in aligning the committee's priorities with professional activities that benefit the INTOSAI community. El-Faisal emphasized the meeting's significance in creating an integrated system for generating professional knowledge and sharing expertise among supreme audit institutions.

The agenda for the meeting includes presentations by the committee's working group leaders on their activities and progress under the 2026-2028 operational plan. Topics covered by the groups include big data, environmental auditing, extractive industries auditing, and the evaluation of public policies and programs, among others.

The ASA is leading two INTOSAI working groups, focusing on combating corruption and money laundering, and examining the impact of science and technology on audit work. The Steering Committee presidency and members commended Egypt's leadership in these areas and its efforts to advance professional work and strengthen cooperation among supreme audit institutions.
