Nasr City:Cairo The Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) is showcasing its locally manufactured water treatment technologies at the fifth International Water, Wastewater, Desalination, Reuse and Waste Treatment and Recycling Exhibition and Conference (IWWI 2026), held under the theme “Made in Egypt.”
According to State Information Service Egypt, the exhibition was inaugurated by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in Nasr City and will run from October 26 to 28. The event is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities.
AOI Chairman Major General Mohamed Abdel Fattah Abou Bakr stated that the organization has made significant strides in localizing advanced technologies for water desalination, purification, and both domestic and industrial wastewater treatment. He emphasized AOI's success in manufacturing water pumps to international quality standards, incorporating high local content to reduce import dependency.
The array of locally manufactured products includes vertical, horizontal, submersible, and split-case pumps in various capacities, designed to meet the needs of the Housing Ministry and the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater. Abou Bakr noted that expanding domestic pump production aligns with government efforts to bolster local manufacturing, attract investment, and establish Egypt as a regional industrial hub under Egypt Vision 2030.
He further affirmed AOI's commitment to supporting national water and wastewater infrastructure projects and expanding partnerships with the private sector to enhance industrial integration, technology transfer, and manufacturing competitiveness.
In addition, the ministers of housing, military production, and industry toured the AOI pavilion, commending its manufacturing capabilities, diverse products, and initiatives to localize advanced water treatment technologies.
