Cairo: The Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) has signed a contract with China's CITIC International to manufacture communications equipment at the AOI's Electronics Factory. The agreement was signed by Chairman of the Electronics Factory, Major General Ahmed Abdel Aziz.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the deal is part of the AOI's initiative to localize advanced technologies in both military and civilian electronics industries. This strategic move has attracted major international companies to form partnerships with the organization and invest in this crucial industrial sector.
AOI Chairman Major General Mokhtar Abdel Latif expressed his appreciation for the collaboration with CITIC International, highlighting the partnership's focus on technology localization and enhancing local manufacturing capabilities in electronic industries. The goal is to utilize the advanced production capabilities of the AOI's Electronics Factory to strengthen strategic cooperation and expertise exchange.
Abdel Latif emphasized the potential of AOI's factories and companies to become a hub for strategic cooperation with CITIC International, aiming to meet domestic demand and supply the local market with military and civilian electronic products. Additionally, the partnership is expected to create export opportunities through the production of globally competitive, high-quality products.
The implementation phase of the partnership will begin according to a clear timetable, with both parties stressing the importance of coordinating efforts to achieve integration and partnership in areas of mutual interest.
The Vice President of China's CITIC International Group expressed pride in partnering with the AOI, describing it as Egypt's industrial backbone. He noted that the cooperation marks a significant step toward deepening local manufacturing and localizing advanced technologies by leveraging the AOI's advanced manufacturing capabilities.
