Cairo: Major General Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), engaged in discussions with General Banza Molamboy Jul, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, on strengthening bilateral cooperation in key manufacturing sectors.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting, which took place on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, was also attended by Ambassador Jean-Baptiste Kasongo Musinga. The focus was on leveraging AOI's industrial capabilities to support development, defense, and security industries in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), while exploring joint manufacturing projects.
Abdel Latif reiterated Egypt's commitment to enhancing industrial integration with African nations under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. This initiative aims to expand economic cooperation and open new export markets across the continent, further deepening Egyptian-Congolese relations through ongoing coordination and joint initiatives, particularly in defense and security industries.
General Banza acknowledged Egypt's industrial capabilities and recognized AOI as a pivotal part of the country's industrial sector. He expressed the DRC's readiness to enhance partnerships with Egypt, emphasizing the significance of technology transfer and the localization of advanced manufacturing industries.
The Congolese delegation was also given a tour of an AOI product exhibition, where they were briefed on the organization's latest industrial and technological innovations.
