Abu dhabi: Al Azhar Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed Al-Tayyeb held a phone conversation with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during which he strongly condemned Iranian attacks on the UAE and a number of Arab countries describing them as violations of sovereignty and the principles of good neighborliness.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed voiced his gratitude and appreciation for the fraternal gesture from the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar.

The two sides underscored the need for restraint, an immediate halt to the escalating military tensions in the region and the pursuit of dialogue and political solutions to resolve disputes, in order to prevent further deterioration of regional security and stability.
