Cairo: Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk emphasized that supporting farmers is a top priority for the ministry. Farouk stressed that his office will remain open at all times for any farmer or agricultural worker, asserting that immediate action is taken in response to any complaint or request from farmers.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister's remarks came at a meeting with several farmers on Saturday 25/10/2025 as part of efforts to enhance direct communication with farmers and agricultural producers, listen to their problems, and work on solving them. Farouk explained that he is keen on continuous direct communication with farmers, livestock breeders, and agricultural producers from various governorates, in addition to listening to their opinions and viewpoints on issues that concern farmers.

The meeting witnessed a candid and fruitful discussion, where the minister heard many demands raised by the farmers, including concerns regarding the fertilizer distribution system, availability of production inputs, cleaning of irrigation canals, crop marketing, agricultural guidance, and the farmers' support system. Farouk emphasized that the ministry will spare no effort in finding urgent and effective solutions to all challenges faced by farmers.

He pointed out that amendments are currently being made to the agricultural cooperatives law to activate and deepen their role. He also directed the formation of an urgent committee to immediately follow up on the suggestions presented by farmers and begin working on overcoming obstacles without delay. For their part, the farmers expressed their appreciation at the end of the meeting for the ministry's quick response and for the minister's personal commitment to meeting with them and listening to them directly.
