Agiba Unveils New Oil Discovery in Western Desert

Cairo: Agiba Petroleum Company announced a new oil discovery in the Western Desert. The newly discovered Arcadia West field is now in production, yielding 2,500 barrels of oil equivalent per day (bpd).According to State Information Service Egypt, drilling at the Arcadia-28 well led to the identification of a high-quality reservoir, highlighting the area's hydrocarbon potential. This comes shortly after the discovery of the Iris field, which continues to produce 7,500 barrels of oil equivalent per day.The field was connected to existing infrastructure quickly, benefiting from Agiba's rapid development strategy and effective use of recent data in collaboration with its partners.Geologically, the discovery is important as it confirms the Masajid formation as a new hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir. Previously considered a sealing formation, it has now shown the ability to produce quantities of oil under favourable geological conditions. The discovery aligns with Agiba's strategy to expand exploration near exi sting production zones. The Arcadia West find enhances the prospects for replicating this successful model and highlights the company's approach to exploration and reservoir analysis. Supported by 3D seismic surveys, the discovery confirms the integration of advanced geoscience technologies with operational expertise and supports Agiba's plans to drill more wells in Arcadia West and pursue further exploration in the Masajid formation.
