Rafah: The 211th humanitarian aid convoy departed from the Rafah border crossing en route to the Karam Abu Salem crossing in preparation for entering the Gaza Strip as part of Egypt's ongoing efforts to alleviate the humanitarian crisis affecting more than two million Palestinians in the enclave.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the area outside the Rafah crossing saw a lineup of aid trucks early in the morning carrying food and relief supplies for people affected by the Israeli war in Gaza before proceeding to Karam Abu Salem through the side gate of the Rafah crossing.
A source at the Egyptian Red Crescent said the trucks are part of the "Zad Al-Ezza: From Egypt to Gaza" convoy and are carrying large quantities of food and humanitarian assistance, including food parcels, flour, fresh bread, legumes, canned foods, medicines, personal care items, tents, clothing, and fuel supplies.
The source added that since the outbreak of the war in Gaza, nearly 50,000 trucks carrying more than 995,000 tons of humanitarian and relief aid have entered the Strip in addition to ambulances and fuel tankers.
