ABU DHABI: Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO) has entered into a contract with the Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center( CMRC) c regarding the operation of the Host Center established by the organisation dedicated to long-term care for people with disabilities. The ZHO grants the leading and specialised center in providing comprehensive long-term care services in the country and Gulf states tasks, duties, and authorities to provide and supply residents of the center with medical and therapeutic services, with the aim of aligning the center’s services with international classifications for rehabilitating people with disabilities with critical or severe conditions.
The contract was signed by Abdullah Al-Humaidan, Secretary-General of the ZHO, and Dr. Howard Podolsky, Group Chief Executive Officer, CMRC, in the presence of a number of leaders from both sides.
Under the contract, the Cambridge Center for Medicine and Rehabilitation provides nursing services and applied behavior a
nalysis services aimed at enhancing mental health, addressing psychological issues, behavior problems, and patinet problems, in collaboration with other specialists (such as psychiatrists and occupational therapists) in healthcare, in addition to pharmaceutical services, physical therapy services, occupational therapy, speech therapy, registered dietitian services, and dental services for people with disabilities residing at the Host Center. The CMRC may also utilize external resources to provide supportive services.
In turn, ZHO supports the Cambridge Center by guiding it to obtain all necessary licenses, permits, authorizations, and delegations, granting it and its staff access rights and the right of continuous movement to all areas and facilities of the center, and the right to access the facilities belonging to the organization, to enable it and its staff to assist patients receiving care in another facility owned by the organization, who can benefit from receiving treatment at the center.

Humaidan warmly welcomed the signing of the contract with the Cambridge Center for Medicine and Rehabilitation, which owns distinguished healthcare facilities in the country and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The center offers the latest in technology for inpatient care, outpatient rehabilitation, and provides comprehensive and intensive rehabilitation for individuals with neurological, musculoskeletal, and acute, post-acute, and long-term disabilities.
He added that ZHO is always seeking the best possible care and rehabilitation for its members across all its affiliated centers, providing advanced services for various categories of people with disabilities, and investing resources and energies in a positive environment to enable them educationally, occupationally, culturally, and socially, in line with their abilities and aspirations, and contributing to enhancing societal roles and achieving social development. He noted that entrusting the management of the Host Center to the Cambridge Center for Medicine
and Rehabilitation is aimed at providing the highest standards of care, attention, and monitoring for the center’s residents, multiplying their care, rehabilitation, and integration into society.

The Host Center, affiliated with zho, was established in 2013
as a specialized center located in the Mafraq area in Abu Dhabi. It provides long-term accommodation, continuous support and care, as well as medical, nursing, therapeutic, and rehabilitation services supported by the Health Authority – Abu Dhabi to the organization. The center has 80 beds for adolescents and adults with complex medical and mental disabilities, requiring daily support and high-level nursing services around the clock.
The center provides high-quality care for people with disabilities, including those with complex psychological disorders and severe physical disabilities. It offers long-term care for inpatients, rehabilitation for children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly requiring different levels of mental and physical care. The center’s focus is on improving the quality of life for people with disabilities, by assisting in their integration into society, developing career paths for different cases, and ensuring the development of a suitable living environment for their individual needs.
