Winners of Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship’s Masters, Adults categories honoured


ABU DHABI: Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court, attended part of the competitions of the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship – Round 3 (No-Gi), organised by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation at Al Bait Metwahed, Sharjah, from 27th to 29th September 2024.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon presented medals to the winners in the Masters and Adults categories, expressing pride in the stellar performances of the athletes. He also praised the efforts of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation to advance the sport, expand the base of practitioners, and further cement the UAE’s reputation, particularly Abu Dhabi, as the world jiu-jitsu capital.

The event is expected to attract more than 1,500 athletes over three days of competition in the Adults, Masters, U12, U14, U16, and Youth categories.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon was accompanied by Yousef Abdullah Al Batran, Board Member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation; Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah S
elf-Defence Sports Club; and Mohamed Hussain Al Marzooqi, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications at the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation.

Abdulmunem Alsayed Mohammed Al Hashmi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, President of the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Union, and Senior Vice President of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation, noted that the achievements in jiu-jitsu within the UAE are the result of the wise leadership’s support and guidance, emphasising the role the sport plays in promoting health and fitness, instilling noble values in the community, and nurturing a strong generation of champions.
