Widespread destruction to infrastructure and citizens’ properties after withdrawal of Israeli troops from Jenin and its camp


JENIN: The Israeli occupation army withdrew from the city of Jenin and its camp at dawn, after an aggression that lasted for about 15 hours, causing widespread destruction to the infrastructure and citizens’ properties.

The Director of Public Relations in the Jenin Municipality, Bashir Matahin, said that the occupation bulldozers re-destroyed what had been rehabilitated from the penultimate storming of the city and camp, which lasted 10 days.

He affirmed that the occupation bulldozers destroyed the lines of several structures and sewage networks, causing a power outage in the targeted areas.

Mathain pointed out that the occupation forces destroyed the main water line leading to Jenin Governmental Hospital, which needs more than 60 cups of water daily, indicating that the municipality crews will provide the hospital with water tanks so that they can repair the line.

He pointed out that the occupation deliberately destroyed the streets in the eastern neighborhood in the Khalid bin al-Walid Mosque Street are
a and destroyed the walls of the houses and the cemetery of the eastern neighborhood.

In turn, the head of the popular committee in Jenin camp, Major General Muhammad al-Sabbagh, confirmed that the occupation re-destroyed the infrastructure in several streets inside the camp, and destroyed the main water lines feeding the camp.

He pointed out that the occupation stormed dozens of homes inside the camp and destroyed their contents, and also blew up the home of the young man Qais al-Saadi, and conducted a field investigation with the young men and residents inside the homes.

He stressed that the repeated raids on the city of Jenin and its camp and the destruction of the infrastructure aim to displace the citizens from the camp.
