Weather: Low-pressure front affects Palestine bringing a drop in temperature and rain

A low-pressure cold front affects Palestine today causing temperature to plummet and become 6°C below the seasonal average. Rain, sometimes heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, is expected in most areas, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department.

Winds are southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, active at times, and sea waves are medium to high.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 15°C and a low of 8°C, and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 14°C and a low of 7°C are expected. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 24°C and a low of 17°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 21°C and a low of 13°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

The low-pressure front is expected to continue to affect Palestine tomorrow, Wednesday, causing temperature to drop further and become 9°C below the seasonal average. Rain, sometimes heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, is expected in most areas.

A rise in temperature is expected on Thursday, which remains 7°C below the seasonal average. Rain, sometimes heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, is also expected in most areas, which declines during the night.

A gradual rise in temperature is expected for Friday, which nevertheless remains slightly below the seasonal average, said the PMD, warning of possible flood formation in low areas and valleys, slippery roads, and low horizontal visibility.
