The New York Times revealed today that Washington provided Israel with ground-penetrating radar to help track down Hamas political bureau chief Yahya Sinwar, according to “Sky News Arabia”.
Last January, Israeli and American officials believed they had a rare opportunity to hunt down one of the world’s most wanted men, according to the newspaper. At the time, Israeli forces raided a tunnel complex in the southern Gaza Strip based on intelligence information that Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas, was hiding there. Later, it turned out that he was indeed there, but he left the hideout under Khan Yunis a few days ago, after which the pursuit operations continue to this day.
Since the October 7 attack, the newspaper says that Sinwar “has become like a ghost: he never appears in public, rarely sends messages to his followers, and gives few clues about his whereabouts.”
