DUBAI: The General Authority of Sports (GAS) announced the winners of the inaugural edition of the UAE Award for Community Sports Events for 2024-2025, during a ceremony held today at the Authority’s Theatre in Dubai.
The event was attended by Ghanem Mubarak Rashed Al Hajeri, Director-General of the GAS, who honoured the winners, alongside a large number of sports federation presidents.
The Emirates News Agency (WAM) won the award for Best Media Outlet Promoting a Culture of Community Sports, with the Sport4All platform coming in second place. The Police Sports Federation won the Best Community Sports Initiative award in the institutions category, with the UAE Taekwondo Federation securing second place.
Abdullah Rashid Salem Al Kindi took first place in the Promising Young Athlete category, with Salem Al Karbi in second. Moza Salem Khalfan Al Mansouri won first place in the Active and Prominent Sportswoman category, while Maryam Mustafa Mohamed Kamal secured second.

n the Community Sports Pioneer category, with veteran media professional Mohamed Al Joker in second place.
Al Hajeri emphasised that the primary goal of the UAE Award for Community Sports Events is to promote a culture of sports and encourage a healthy lifestyle among all members of society, supporting and encouraging sports participation.
