The Emirates News Agency (WAM) signed a number of cooperation and partnership agreements with several international media outlets during the second edition of the Global Media Congress, which today concluded its activities in Abu Dhabi.
The cooperation agreements are part of WAM’s keenness to strengthen its partnerships with various international media institutions, enhance its professional cooperation with international media outlets in the field of news exchange, and establish friendly relations that serve common interests.
The agreements included several international media organisations, including the Pacific Islands News Association (PINA), MediaCity Mauritius, and Latin American TV channel of the Republic of Argentina.
WAM also signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with The Standard Group in the Republic of Kenya, the African Union of Broadcasting in the Republic of Senegal, in addition to the Pakistan Press International (PPI) News Agency in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Mohammed Jalal Al
Rayssi, Director-General of WAM, said the cooperation agreements were signed due to WAM’s keenness to build bridges of cooperation with global media outlets, both print, audio, and visual, and to enhance news exchange with them.
He added that the agreements aim to exchange news, reports, and opinion articles in an objective, accurate, and comprehensive manner, in addition to fostering coordination in organising press conferences, special reports, and advance the media industry around the world.
