A group of protesters on Tuesday stormed Electricité du Liban’s premises in Corniche Al-Nahr in utter objection against the huge monthly bills, especially in light of the almost permanent absence of service, our reporter said on Tuesday.
Members of the security forces and riot control forces immediately deployed inside the institution.
After storming the EDL building’s offices, the protesters left the building and headed outside.
A delegation representing the protesters, including lawyer Wassef Al-Harakeh, met with the institution’s general director, Kamal Al-Hayek, to discuss the soaring bills and the means to reduce them.
