Najib Mikati, on Friday met with Caretaker Education Minister, Abbas Halabi, with whom he reviewed the recent completion of official examinations and discussed upcoming educational challenges. Minister Halabi informed the Prime Minister of the need to have the cabinet pass a decree for another round of official exams scheduled to run from Saturday, August 24, to August 28 or 29, depending on the candidates’ chosen branch.

The meeting also addressed the challenges facing the Ministry of Education as the new school year approaches, particularly in light of the situation in southern Lebanon and its potential impact on school infrastructure. Additionally, discussions covered issues related to the Lebanese University and the upcoming academic year.

Minister Halabi expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s support for the education sector.

Mikati later met with Minister of Industry, George Boujikian, with whom he discussed the latest developments in the industrial sector.

Minister Boujikian provided an updat
e on ongoing efforts, particularly focusing on agricultural-industrial integration and food security. He emphasized the government’s commitment to these critical areas, which are essential for the country’s stability.

Boujikian also expressed strong support for the decisions made by the government regarding the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701. He also underscored the importance of executing the resolution in its entirety, stating that its proper implementation is crucial for the benefit of Lebanon and the broader region.
