UPDATE 2: Three Palestinians killed by Israeli forces during military raid near Jenin

JENIN: Three Palestinians were Tuesday killed by Israeli occupation forces after the latter raided the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin, and surrounded a house.

Local sources said that the occupation soldiers opened fire towards the besieged house, while continuing to send military reinforcements towards the town.

Meanwhile, ambulance crews transferred a young man injured in the shoulder near the besieged house.

WAFA correspondent said that a state of extreme panic was caused among students at Abu al-Rab and Qabatiya schools due to the heavy gunfire as they are trapped in the targeted area.

She added that the occupation soldiers prevented the Red Crescent crews from reaching the besieged house, climbed onto the roof of one of the houses, conducted searches, and then detonated a bomb in the area.

They also fired tear gas at a number of journalists who were present to cover the incident.

Qabatiya Education Director Ahmad Jarara’a said in a phone call with WAFA that “nearly 1,000 students are besieged in t
he two schools, while eight schools have been evacuated.

He added that the occupation is besieging 200 employees who were inside the Education Directorate at the moment the special forces entered and surrounded the surroundings of the Education building.

He added, “The situation is very dangerous, and we are trying to ensure the safety of the students through continuous communication to secure their exit, stressing that the occupation forces have turned the surroundings of Izzat Abu al-Rab and Qabatiya Elementary Schools into a war zone.”
