RAMALLAH: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that the Israeli occupation forces opened heavy fire on a United Nations convoy that was heading to Gaza City on Sunday.
UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini said, in a post on X that an agency vehicle was hit by at least five bullets while it was waiting in front of an Israeli military checkpoint in the central Gaza Strip.
Lazzarin added: “This happened yesterday and the teams were traveling in an armored vehicle with clearly marked UN markings and wearing UN vests.”
He affirmed that Israeli forces opened heavy fire on the convoy that was heading to Gaza City on Sunday.
