ABU DHABI: The Union Association for Human Rights has launched its strategic plan for 2024-2028, aiming to enhance its national and international influence and align with global human rights standards.
The association’s vision is to lead and excel in promoting human rights according to international standards, while its mission emphasises effectively contributing to the protection and respect of human rights and enhancing the impact of all related legislation, decisions, practices and policies. Its core values include loyalty and belonging, commitment and responsibility, partnership and integration, independence and transparency, and leadership and excellence.
The plan outlines eight strategic goals encompassing 20 strategic projects and 34 key performance indicators to be achieved over five years.
The plan’s key goals include effective response, promoting human rights respect, developing partnerships, investing in national human rights talent, promoting human rights culture and preventing violations. It a
lso aims to build community trust and diversify financial resources, covering civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights, with a focus on women, children, the elderly, People of Determination and workers.
Dr. Fatima Khalifa Al Kaabi, President of the Union Association for Human Rights, stated that this plan is the result of the team’s efforts and marks a significant milestone for civil society organisations in the UAE.
She emphasised that the plan reinforces the country’s leadership in human rights and highlights its cultural and humanitarian achievements with a forward-looking approach to regional and international work.
