Minister Al-Qaisi added that work is underway in partnership with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) to prepare for the submission of the Aqaba Marine Reserve on the World Heritage List.

He said that the Urdun Jannah program for domestic tourism, whose trips are supported by the ministry by more than 50 percent, reached 193,000 participants during the first half of this year, while the number of participants in the first half of last year reached about 85,000 participants.

Minister Mubaideen, for his part, said that today’s press briefing is to talk about the inclusion of the Umm Al Jimal site on the UNESCO World Heritage List, in line with the Ministry of Government Communication’s role in enhancing communication between the media and hosting officials to respond to inquiries and questions.

He stressed that the Ministry of Government Communication, under the directives of Prime Minister, Bisher Khasawneh, is concerned with enhancing the role of the media as a key development partner in all
achievements.

Mubaideen added that the ministry, in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, will organize a tour for the media to visit the Umm Al-Jimal site, as part of the Tafaseel (Details) program launched by the Ministry of Government Communication, which includes periodic field visits to governorates, distrcits and areas far from the center, to learn about their conditions, achievements and challenges.

In response to a question, Mubaideen said that the Cabinet on Sunday approved the compelling reasons for amending the Civil Service Law to allow public sector employees to work outside the official working hours in accordance with controls that ensure that the productivity of the employee does not affect the productivity of the employee, does not casuse conflict of interest, and ensures impartiality in taking the work permit.

Mubaideen explained that the reason for amending the civil service system and allowing work outside the official working hours according to controls comes as a r
esult of studying the subsequent impact of the decision on society, stressing that the government is not isolated from the demands and needs of citizens, and respects objective and balanced criticism.
