Amman: The UK, Australia, Finland and Italy Saturday joined the US in suspending their aid to UNRWA following Israeli allegations that the UN agency staff were involved in the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation.
The US State Department announced that it had temporarily suspended funding for UNRWA pending a review of the Israeli allegations.
The Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) urged the five countries to immediately rescind their suspension decision, noting that there are “catastrophic” political and humanitarian risks from stopping supporting UNRWA.
