Rabat – Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), Nasser Kamel, praised, here Wednesday, the prominent role of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of Al-Quds Committee, in defending the Palestinian cause.
In a statement to the press following his talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, UfM’s Secretary General underlined the prominent role and the sustainable efforts of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of Al-Quds Committee, in defending the Palestinian cause, by highlighting the Committee’s role, in accordance with the High Royal Instructions, to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in the Gaza strip and Palestine.
He also stressed the importance of strengthening Euro-Mediterranean cooperation, notably in terms of conflict resolution on the basis of the two-State solution and a political process leading to sustainable and comprehensive peace.
The meeting between the UfM’s Secretary General and Bourita provided an opportunity
to review the ongoing comprehensive reform process of the UfM mechanism, with a view to broadening its prerogatives, and to highlight Morocco’s role in this respect, alongside countries that believe in this institution and its role in strengthening Euro-Mediterranean dialogue and cooperation.
