UAEJA elects new Board of Directors

DUBAI: The UAE Journalists Association (UAEJA) elected its new Board of Directors during its periodic General Assembly held yesterday at its headquarters in Dubai, under the supervision of the Ministry of Community Development.

The new members are Fadelah Abdullah Al Muaini (74 votes), Khalid Abdul Rahman Al Ghailani (72 votes), Halima Abdullah Al Mulla (70 votes), Fatima Al Ward Al Darmaki (58 votes), Hassan Youssef Imran Al Shamsi (55 votes), Ali Mohammed Hassan Shahdour (52 votes), Mohamed Saeed Al Tunaiji (52 votes), Reem Mohamed Al Breiki (51 votes), and Mohamed Junaid Al Ameri (45 votes).

Omar Ahmed Mohamed Al Saadi, who received 43 votes, was designated as the board’s first alternate member, and Ali Omar Al Hanouri Al Zahiri, who received 42 votes, was designated as the second alternate member.

Mohamed Al Hammadi, President of the Association, reviewed the details of the 2023 administrative report issued by the association with the board’s members.

The report confirmed the acceptance of 56 membersh
ip applications that meet the relevant criteria, 10 of which are for active membership and 46 of which are for associate membership. The total number of association members reached 1,371, including 431 active members and 940 associate members, representing an increase of 4.25 percent.
