Vahagn Khachaturyan, President of the Republic of Armenia, commended the initiative announced by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during his opening speech at the Global Climate Action Summit to establish a US$30 billion fund for global climate solutions.
President Khachaturyan said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), on the sidelines of COP28 in Dubai, that this initiative signifies that the UAE has taken upon itself this duty to enhance joint efforts to confront the challenges of climate change, to carry out joint and unified programs with all countries of the world.
The Armenian president explained, “In this situation that the world is witnessing, we must be united and joint in our steps to confront climate challenges. We must record and evaluate the current conditions according to the 2015 Paris Agreement and complete climate action.
‘We must be committed to our duties within the framework of this agreement and achieve success in this field and reduce carbon
dioxide emissions and increase green areas, forests and water resources,’ he added.
