ABU DHABI: Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), has affirmed that the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to launch the ‘UAE Stands with Lebanon’ campaign in support of the Lebanese people reflect the UAE leadership’s role in assisting friendly and brotherly nations facing crises and disasters.
He highlighted the UAE’s leading role in responding swiftly to global humanitarian concerns and providing urgent assistance wherever needed.
In his statement, Dr. Al Mazrouei emphasised that the campaign is rooted in humanitarian, historical, and moral principles. He pointed out that the long-standing relations between the two countries have spanned many years, and that today, under its wise leadership, the UAE continues the path laid out by the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, standing by Lebanon in its difficult times, just as it has done in the past.
He added, “Given the close r
elationship with Lebanon and its people, our values call for us to be a source of support to our friends in times of need, which is exactly what our wise leadership in the UAE is doing today.”
Al Mazrouei stated that the ERC will contribute all its capabilities to enhance the activities of the campaign, in line with the high directives of the UAE President. He also noted that the organisation will mobilise all its staff, volunteers, outlets, platforms, and donation sites to support the campaign.
He added that the ERC has extensive experience in relief and logistics operations and will dedicate all its resources in various relief fields to support the national campaign aimed at assisting the Lebanese people.
