ABU DHABI: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed a number of global partners and investors who signed an agreement today to join ADNOC’s lower-carbon intensity liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Ruwais.

The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

During the meeting, which took place at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, His Highness welcomed the officials from the companies who signed the equity agreement. They were accompanied by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO.

His Highness endorsed the agreement, emphasising its significance within the framework of the UAE’s ongoing initiatives to invest in clean energy projects. He highlighted the importance of identifying solutions to the common challenges faced by the energy sector and enhancing cooperation with partners in the sector worldwide, serving sustainable development for all.

His Highness
discussed with company officials the potential for cooperation between all sides, particularly in employing innovative solutions to drive sustainable economic development. They also explored practical solutions for the transition in the energy sector.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber; Murray Auchincloss, CEO of bp; Kenichi Hori, President and CEO of Mitsui and Co.; Wael Sawan, CEO of Shell; and Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies.
