UAE dispatches 6 relief-laden planes to Lebanon

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has dispatched six planes laden with around 205 tons of medical, relief, food supplies, and shelter equipment to Lebanon.

The aid comes in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).

The supplies announced by the UAE on Sunday are part of the UAE Airlift for Lebanon and the “UAE with you, Lebanon” campaign, which will be launched two days later in cooperation with the local community and international partners to provide urgent relief support to help alleviate the critical humanitarian and health repercussions in Lebanon.

On Monday, the UAE announced the provision of $100 million in emergency relief aid to the Lebanese people.
