President Kais Saied secured a second five-year presidential term, winning 90.69 percent of the votes in the first round of the presidential elections held on Sunday.
The Tunisian Independent High Authority for Elections announced in a press conference on Monday evening the preliminary results of presidential elections, with the overall voting rate at home and abroad amounted to 28.8 percent, in which outgoing President Kais Saied received 2.438,954 votes with 90.69 percent of the votes against 7.35 percent for his rival Ayachi Zemal and 1.97 percent for Zouhair Meghzawi.
