A TRENDS Research and Advisory delegation and scholars from Korea University explored ways to strengthen research and academic collaboration between the two institutions.
The discussions took place during a panel discussion held in Seoul, led by Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, and Dr. Kim Dong-one, President of Korea University, with the attendance of several academics and experts.
At the beginning of the session, Dr. Mohammed Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, presented Dr. Kim Dong-one, President of Korea University, with the TRENDS Research Medal in recognition of his support in opening TRENDS’ eighth global office on the University’s campus and the University’s contribution and knowledge partnership with TRENDS during the international conference on artificial intelligence organised by the UAE Embassy in Seoul.
Dr. Kim was also gifted the book Cybersecurity in the Age of AI, which TRENDS’ Seoul Office launched at the start of its activities.
During the session, both sides discussed prospects for coo
peration, emphasising the need to activate channels of scientific and intellectual dialogue between research and academic institutions to serve common goals and contribute to advancing knowledge and future foresight.
They also stressed the importance of focusing on specialised research in modern technological fields, particularly artificial intelligence and its multiple applications.
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali expressed his delight in TRENDS collaborating with Korea University, one of Asia’s most prestigious institutions, and in opening TRENDS’ eighth global office on its campus.
He highlighted this as a new step forward in boosting cooperation between the two entities and facilitating the exchange of expertise and personnel.
