Transport Minister Kamel el Wazir had a meeting on Friday with Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khaled el Anani to follow up progress made so far in the implementation of a strategy to promote yacht tourism in Egypt in line with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives in this regard.
Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli also gave directives to speed up the finalization of all necessary studies conducted by the ministries and parties concerned to implement the strategy.
The Transport Ministry said in a statement that the two ministers, during the meeting, agreed on the necessity of intensifying workshops for the working team, specialists and relevant parties to make all data available in an automated manner through the e-platform (single window) being created as part of the strategy.
The strategy also includes maps of all existing or new marinas nationwide and sets up rules and regulations that are designed to boost yacht tourism across the country, the statement said.
The strategy will be presented to the ministerial committee for tourism and antiquities, under the prime minister, for approval, the statement noted.
