Transport Minister receives Singaporean, Chinese companies delegation

Amman: Minister of Transport Wissam Tahtahmouni met on Monday with a delegation representing Singaporean and Chinese companies specializing in smart transportation solutions, infrastructure development, bus manufacturing, and charging systems for electric vehicles.

According to the ministry’s statement, the meeting covered ways to leverage the leading expertise of ST Engineering, Clean Kinetics, and Higer companies in developing and enhancing public transportation projects in the Kingdom.

The minister’s meeting with the Singapore-China delegation follows the visit of HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah to Singapore in January, at the invitation of the Singaporean Prime Minister, as part of bolstering bilateral relations and cooperation in multiple fields.

The minister discussed with the delegation opportunities for joint cooperation and the possibility of leveraging advanced systems provided by these companies to serve the transportation sector, especially in the smart cities project, bus rapid transi
t (BRT) projects, and the toll road project.

She commended the cutting-edge technology employed by these companies and emphasized the necessity of utilizing their knowledge to elevate the caliber of services provided in Jordan’s transportation industry.

The minister directed the ministry’s stakeholders to communicate with the companies to discuss mechanisms to benefit from technological solutions to meet the challenges of public transportation in Jordan.

The companies gave presentations on their work mechanisms and expertise in several countries around the world, including infrastructure development, smart cities, rail transportation projects, BRT projects, electric vehicle charging systems, solar energy projects, and bus manufacturing.
