Minister of Transport Kamel el Wazir has directed the officials concerned to continue coordination with all state bodies, as well as with governorates by which the high-speed train is set to pass.
Coordination is important in terms of avoiding any conflict between ongoing projects and planned ones in areas of operation, Wazir added as he inspected works of the first line of the high-speed rail network project, which stretches from the port of Ain Sokhna on the Red Sea, through Alexandria and Alamein, to the Mediterranean city of Marsa Matrouh.
The tour started at Cairo station located in Helwan district, with the minister being briefed on implementation rates there, the Ministry of Transport said in a statement Friday.
Wazir then inspected work progress at New Cairo’s Mohamed Naguib station, the statement added.
The minister was also informed of implementation rates at the New Administrative Capital station, which combines the high-speed line and the light rail transit (LRT).
Finally, Wazir toured Ain Sokhna station and was briefed on work progress there.
