Transport Minister Kamel el Wazir on Saturday 21/08/2021 followed up the progress realized in less than a week in the Light Railway Transit (LRT) project that connects the New Capital and the 10th of Ramadan City.

The Minister’s tour started at Adly Mansour Metro station, a central stop that should include an integrated transport complex and an investment trade area. This central station extends over 15 feddans and serves as a meeting point between five different means of transport.

The Minister also inspected other LRT stops and bridges to get firsthand information about work progress which has reached 97 percent.

He noted that three tunnels have been finalized under the project.

About 75 percent of the electro-mechanical works of the project were accomplished, he said, noting that 71.5 percent of the mobile units were finalized.

The minister also followed up the implementation of the third stage of the project.

Under the fourth stage, the LRT will be extended to the heart of the 10th of Ramadan city in line with directives of the political leadership.
