Transport Minister Kamel El-Wazir witnessed on Tuesday 07/02/2023 the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the General Authority for Land and Dry Ports (GALDP) and an Egyptian consortium grouping national specialized companies.
As per the MoU, the two sides will team up to establish, manage and operate the integrated logistics area in Salloum.
The move comes as part of a direct mandate issued by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to expand the establishment of dry ports and logistics zones to enhance the performance of Egyptian ports and improve the efficiency of the logistics system of the State.
The signing of the MoU comes as part of the Transport Ministry’s establishment of a network comprising 15 dry ports and logistics areas, said the minister.
The MoU embodies cooperation between the State, represented by the GALDP, and the local private sector, added the minister.
