Alexandria: Egyptian Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel Wazir asserted the depth of the historic ties between Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq. He underlined the importance of cooperation among the three countries in the various transportation domains. Wazir noted that the Arab Bridge Maritime company represents a successful model of Arab partnership as it plays a key role in Arab, Africa, and Asian trade exchange.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Wazir made the remarks while chairing the 83rd meeting of the Arab Bridge Maritime company, which was held on the fringe of meetings of the executive office of the Arab transport ministers, currently held in Alexandria. The meeting was attended by Transport Ministers Wesam Al Tahtamouni of Jordan and Razzaq Muhaybis of Iraq. Wazir said the company is one of the pioneering companies in the maritime transport domain in the Red Sea region.

He applauded the company’s administration for turning challenging conditions into opportunities for success, especially
in light of current regional circumstances. He remarked that the company has taken swift and proper measures to confront challenges over the past years. He underscored the importance of boosting cooperation between the three countries in various domains, especially transport, as it positively affects trade exchange.

The transport ministers reviewed the company’s activities throughout 2024, which achieved positive results, including transporting 200,000 passengers during the year and ferrying 70,000 shipments via the Aqaba-Nuweiba maritime line. This highlights the key role played by the company in trade exchange as a linking point between the African, Asian, and European continents and as a social and economic Arab bridge.

The minister emphasized the importance of continued development and opening new opportunities for the company through operating new maritime lines, especially in the Red Sea region. Within this context, the Jordanian minister praised the achievements realized by the company over the past
five years. The Iraqi minister commended the working mechanism of the company and the efficiency of the company’s board.

The company’s director general, Adnan Al Abadleh, reviewed the company’s working plans and its aspirations for 2025.
