Transport Minister Kamel El Wazir made on Monday an inspection tour of the first phase of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) project.
The tour began with an inspection of the work sites at the Mohamed Naguib station that serves the areas of Katameya, New Cairo, and the new urban areas located south of Ain Sokhna Road.
The first phase of the LRT project will connect the New Administrative Capital with the Adly Mansour interchange station in Cairo.
The station is set to include an LRT system, a railway station, a SuperJet bus station and a shuttle bus station.
The second phase extends over 18.5 km and comprises four stations starting from the NAC to a central interchange station linked with the high-speed train line in Ain Sokhna city on the Red Sea coast.
