Minister of Transport Kamel el Wazir inspected Sunday the construction sites of the high-speed electric rail project within the area of Sohag governorate.
Accompanied by Sohag Governor Tarek el Fiky and senior officials from the General Authority for Roads and Bridges and Land Transport, the minister paid an inspection tour of Sohag main railway station opposite to Sohag International Airport.

The projects are part of a State’s plan to build new roads to serve as better lifelines for development, while connecting desert roads with townships to facilitate citizens’ movement and cut down on travel time, the minister said.
He noted that the high-speed electric rail network is comprised of three main lines measuring around 2,000 km long in total, nearly 1,400 km of which will serve Upper Egyptian governorates.
