Traders and importers: We have a good stock of basic food items

Traders and importers said that they have a good stock of basic food items, and there is no need for citizens to panic and rush to buy what they need and do not need. They stressed that the operations of shipping and importing goods from countries around the world are continuing to this day, despite the difficulties and the increase in the period of arrival of goods.

This came during a tour conducted by the Chairman of the Plastic Industries Union and member of the Board of Directors of the Hebron Chamber, Kamel Al-Zeer Al-Husseini, and the Economic Advisor and member of the Board of Directors of the Hebron Chamber, Ahmed Hassouna, to a number of importers and traders in Hebron, with the aim of reviewing the status of food supplies and inventory in light of the tensions witnessed in the region and their impact on the import of goods.

Al-Hussaini thanked the merchants and importers for their keenness to provide high-quality food products at prices that suit citizens, stressing the need to continue what they
are doing, despite the risks that stand in their way, and to provide basic food products continuously to citizens. He called on consumers to buy what they need according to their natural needs and not to panic, because that will lead to material damage to them.

Counselor Hassouna called on government regulatory authorities to activate their role in monitoring markets and strategic stocks and removing all obstacles facing importers and traders, including, for example, cash deposits by traders and importers in banks that are still reluctant to deposit large amounts of cash. He pointed out that overcoming this problem has become an urgent need and the Monetary Authority must intervene.

In a separate context, Al-Husseini and Hassouna met with the Director of the Customs Police in the Hebron Governorate, Nidal Al-Saifi, in the presence of a number of officers of the agency. During the meeting, ways of joint cooperation were discussed to overcome the obstacles that hinder the daily work of businessmen, manufactur
ers and importers in a manner consistent with Palestinian law.

It was agreed to continue the meetings that facilitate work between all parties
