Trade and Industry Minister Nevine Gamea had a meeting on Friday with Qatari ambassador in Cairo Salem Mubarak al-Shafi to discuss means of boosting economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service Ahmed Maghawri.
During the meeting, Gamea stressed the importance of translating what has been agreed upon between the political leadership of the two countries into cooperation projects that serve the two brotherly peoples’ interests.
She also stressed the importance of activating joint work at the ministerial level, with the aim of promoting relations between Egypt and Qatar to unprecedented levels.
She also invited the new Qatari Trade and Industry Minister to visit Cairo to discuss several files of mutual concern in the coming stage.
For his part, the Qatari ambassador stressed the importance of increasing the rates of intra-regional trade and joint investments between Egypt and Qatar.
He also lauded the economic reforms carried out by the Egyptian State during the current stage, noting that the Qatari investments, particularly in the financial and real estate sectors, remained present in the Egyptian market in the past period.
