Tourism,irrigation ministers discuss host of tourism-related issues

Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khalid el Anani had a meeting on Tuesday 8/2/2022 with Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Mohamed Abdel Aati to discuss a host of issues related to the tourism sector.

 

 

 

The Ministry’s Undersecretary, Ragab Abdel Azim, President of the Egyptian Tourism Federation Ahmed el-Wasif and a number of the executive leaders in both ministries attended the meeting.

 

 

 

During the meeting, the two ministers discussed means of maximizing the optimal use of El Qanater El Khayreya, especially after its development works, which were carried out by the Water Resources and Irrigation Ministry, in conjunction with the opening of the Mohammed Ali Pasha Palace in Cairo’s Shubra el-Khayma district after its renovation by the Tourism and Antiquities Ministry.

 

 

 

Talks also took up continued coordination between the two ministries to facilitate the procedures to obtain licenses for hotels and tourist accommodation establishments overlooking the Nile River or the Mediterranean and Red Seas.

 

 

 

They also discussed facilitating the procedures to get licenses for cruising boats and restaurants, particularly in light of the new laws regulating tourism establishments and water resources and irrigation.
