Tourism Minister visits Habes Al Majali Museum

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Makram Al-Qaisi inspected the Habes Al Majali Museum in Amman on Sunday.

The visit comes as a continuation of the ministry’s efforts to identify all components of the tourism and cultural landscape and its diversity, and because museums are an essential tool in consolidating the ancient Jordanian identity, which extends for thousands of years through many civilizations to the Hashemite era.

Al-Qaisi toured the museum and was briefed on the museum’s facilities and its national contents, which showcases Field Marshal Habis Majali’s long personal and military career during which he served Jordan and its Hashemite leadership.

The importance of the museum lies in the fact that the house witnessed many political milestones in the last century and in the personality of Majali as a national symbol that unites all Jordanians.

Field Marshal Majali’s residence was converted into a museum by royal decree after the Amman Municipality acquired it because of its historical significanc
e and symbolism.
