Tourism min. chairs meeting of Egyptian Tourism Authority’s board

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled el Anani on Monday evening presided over a meeting of the Egyptian Tourism Authority’s Board of Directors.

During the meeting, the minister welcomed Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs and former Egyptian Ambassador to Russia Ihab Nasr, who became a member of the board and replaced Ambassador Badr Abdel-Ati, who assumed the position of Egypt’s Ambassador to Belgium and the European Union.

The minister, during the meeting, posted the participants on the latest developments related to the tourism and antiquities sector over the past period, including Egypt’s participation in the International Tourism Fair in Spain (FITUR), which was held from January 19 to 23 in Madrid, Spain.

The meeting also took up the outcome of meetings of the Egyptian-Omani Committee that were held on January 22 and 23 and culminated in the signing of an executive cooperation program in the field of tourism between the two sides.

The minister also reviewed preparations for Egypt’s hosting of the UN Climate Change Conference 2022 (UNFCCC COP 27) in the Red Sea city of Sharm El Sheikh in November.

He also reviewed a number of events to be organized by Egypt in the coming period, topped by the sun falling perpendicularly on King Ramses II face in Abu Simbel Temple on February 22, as well as Luxor Governorate’s hosting of the fashion show of Italian designer Stefano Ricci. The famous Stefano Ricci fashion house will celebrate its golden jubilee in Luxor’s Hatshepsut Temple at Deir el-Bahari.

The minister also posted the attendees on Egypt’s participation in Hungexpo in Budapest in March as a foreign guest of honor and in the 2022 Seatrade Cruise Global, from April 25 to 27 in Miami Beach Convention Center in the United States.
